Cricket for Nature Toolkit

Climate change and nature degradation are reshaping cricket – from extreme heat and air pollution disrupting play at local and international fixtures alike to rain washing out matches and water scarcity threatening pitches worldwide. Cricket grounds also represent a vast, often-overlooked network of green spaces that can support biodiversity and ecological resilience when managed with nature in mind.

Developed by Sports for Nature in collaboration with the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Cricket for Nature Toolkit translates the Sports for Nature Framework’s four principles into seven practical steps for cricket organisations.

From grassroots clubs to international venues, this toolkit gives cricket organisations a practical structure to understand environmental risk, strengthen resilience, protect and restore nature, and use the game’s platform to inspire positive action – helping secure the future of cricket for generations to come.
