Launched in 2016 by the French Golf Federation and the National Museum of Natural History, the Golf for Biodiversity Programme seeks to improve ecological knowledge, management and conservation practices on golf courses across France. Each participating club begins with an ecological diagnostic carried out by a naturalist organisation, followed by tailored action plans informed by expert recommendations.
Bronze, Silver or Gold certification recognises a club’s commitment to studying, protecting and promoting biodiversity, while data gathered contributes to the National Natural Heritage Inventory. The collaboration not only advances scientific research on under-documented ecosystems, but also offers clubs expert guidance, training, peer support and an enhanced public image.
